For 225 contributor Maggie Heyn Richardson, life’s too short to have too many “bad food days.” While she has made some good (and bad) brown bag lunches, she teams up with local food blogger Teresa Bailey Day for a brown bag date as their children attend a field trip to the Audubon Zoo. Richardson brought crab salad, and Day packed black bean burritos and homemade pound cake. “We make a big deal about what goes into a young person’s lunchbox these days, but it’s equally important to tuck something inspired and delicious in your own brown bag,” Richardson writes.
