The LSU Museum of Art, LSU Press and Forum 35 are teaming up for a one-of-a-kind night of classic cocktails next week.

The organizations will host Olive with a Twist! Thursday, July 16, at 6:30 p.m. at the LSU Museum of Art (100 Lafayette St.). The free event features a roaring 1920s atmosphere and highlights LSU Press’s recent release, Shaking Up Prohibition in New Orleans: Authentic Vintage Cocktails from A to Z.

The 2015 release is a republication of Olive Leonhardt and Hilda Phelps Hammond’s original cocktail recipe book.

The exhibition at the museum features all 26 of Leonhardt’s original pen-and-ink drawings for the book. Bartenders from Table Kitchen and Bar will be preparing a few drinks as well. Patrons can dress in costume, but it is not required.

RSVP and get more information.
