The Red Stick Farmers Market’s summer Fresh Fest continues this Saturday with a celebration of tomatoes. This weekend’s market at Fifth and Main streets is dubbed “Tomato Me Crazy,” and the event kicks off at 8 a.m. Creole, grape and cherry tomatoes as well as Bloody Mary mix, tomato relish and feta tomato salad dressing will all be in the spotlight. Chef and culinary instructor Jimmy Le will prepare a dish and drink highlighting the versatility of local tomatoes inside the Main Street Market at 10 a.m. Contests, face painting and music from The Lagniappe Dulcimer Society will also be on hand.
