Think Twice Style: Floral and leather

Maybe I don’t shop normal retail enough, but leather skirts are crazy expensive now! Your best bet is a vintage shop, eBay or Etsy for a decently priced one. I have had this skirt for years and will probably never get rid of it.

IMG_6855IMG_6858I love the juxtaposition of leather and delicate florals. The combo will never get old. I found this blouse on a TJ Maxx run—it’s actually a crop top! It is long enough on me to be tucked into high waisted bottoms and boxy enough to look very early 1960s with skinny pants. Crop tops are a big trend right now, but wearing them to work or even on most non-work days is not exactly an option. Sometimes being petite has its perks! The zipper in the back gives it a little oomph and toughens it up a hair. If I paired this blouse with refined bottoms, the look would appear too sweet for my taste. The small detail of a zipper can make a big difference in deciding whether or not to purchase a piece of clothing.

Always try to find pieces that can work in different ways, whether edgy, elegant, punk or classic. It is important that everything in your closet work with different style moods.
