Unleashed: Making a difference through Dogly

Photo courtesy of Friends of the Animals.

Don’t have the time or space to foster an animal? Don’t have a fortune to donate? You can still make a difference for rescued dogs. All you need is the Dogly app.

The app is an Instagram-like game where locals post pictures of their pups for a specific shelter. Users can upload up to five photos each day. If photos posted by the shelter and its supporters receive enough “loves” by 11 p.m. on the last day of the month, Dogly will donate $1,000 to the local rescue.

The Capital City shelter Friends of the Animals (FOTA) has created an account. To make accessing the app even easier, FOTA has posted a video on YouTube about how to download Dogly. Check it out below.

This month, FOTA is locked in a battle with Pug Rescue of Austin, Tex. At last count on Monday morning, the count stood with FOTA at 53,473 and Pug Rescue at 50,777.

Vote early and vote often. You can be a hero to your hometown’s homeless hounds without spending a dime or even getting any fur on your furniture.

Among dogs who would benefit from the Dogly donation are:
