Once a month, Baton Rouge musicians join forces to perform a classic album from start to finish. This month’s record is John Prine’s self-titled 1971 debut. The Drop the Needle concert kicks off Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Chelsea’s Café. Cover is $10. Ryan Harris, Clay Parker, Steve Judice and others will perform the album with the help of a backing band that includes Ben Herrington, Kasey Ball, Johnny Rossetti and many more. Prine’s debut is considered one of the finest mixes of folk, rock and country and includes songs such as “Paradise” and “Angel from Montgomery.” RSVP and get more information on the show.
