Scuttlebutt: Primo’s steakhouse closing … Mason’s Grill shrimp burgers recognized

Goodbye to Primo’s: Employees of Primo’s Steak & Italian Restaurant were told earlier this week that the steakhouse was closing its doors May 16. Insiders say the decision came after an issue with the lease. Owner Charles Noto allegedly is already working to move his restaurant to a location in Zachary, most likely near Sammy’s Grill. The restaurant won’t be the same caliber of Primo’s upscale atmosphere, but will have the same staff and crew. A shout-out: Food Network Magazine recently profiled the Cajun shrimp burger at Mason’s Grill as part of their “50 States, 50 Burgers” spread, giving the Jefferson Highway restaurant kudos for its jalapeno-stuffed patty with cheese and Gulf shrimp on a sourdough bun.
