225 is a monthly lifestyle magazine based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Since its inception in 2005, it has become the city’s go-to source for coverage on people, food, entertainment and events. From new bike lanes to cocktail bars, the magazine strives to keep readers in the know about the people and places that are fueling the Capital City’s exciting growth. 225 also publishes weekly food e-newsletter 225 Dine and several annual special issues, including Tiger Pride and 225 Extra! Spaces & Places and 225 Extra! Menu Guide. The publication is available for free at restaurants, coffee shops and entertainment venues around the city.
Much of our content comes from staff writers and freelancers with whom we’ve had long-standing relationships. But 225 is always looking for freelance writers who will produce well-crafted features and profiles. We’re also looking for freelance photojournalists with a creative eye and a reputation for professionalism.
225 reserves the right to edit all written and visual content. Payment for stories and photographs varies.
If you have a story to pitch, or are interested in being considered for future writing or photography assignments, please email a cover letter, resume and professional work samples to 225 editor Jennifer Tormo at [email protected].
