On tap for May’s American Craft Beer Week

American Craft Beer Week is probably the greatest week for beer-lovers. Local enthusiasts have a ton of reasons to celebrate.

Events and special kegs have already been tapped for this week, which spotlights craft and independent brewers across the United States. Here are just a few events that caught our eye. Wednesday, May 13
Tin Roof is teaming up with the Baton Rouge Fashion Council for a pop-up market, featuring food trucks and a Single Hop Project Ale. 5 p.m.-9 p.m.

Beausoleil will have Bayou Teche‘s new peach IPA, Bayou Peche, and Saison d’Ecrevisses, a Belgian-style seasonal beer.

Olive or Twist has a long list of beers it will be featuring, including specialty brews from Evil Twin Brewing, Mikkeller, NOLA Brewing and Goose Island Brewery.

Thursday, May 14
Restaurant IPO is hosting an Abita Beer Dinner. Beer-tails start at 6:30 p.m. Seating is at 7 p.m. Cost is $75 per person.

The Chimes East (10870 Coursey Blvd.) is featuring Tin Roof’s new Smoke Shack smoked brown ale, Apricot Turnrow and a surprise specialty keg. 5 p.m.

Friday, May 15
Corporate Brew & Draft will have Chafunkta Brewing Co.‘s new Irish red ale, Bayou Blaze. 6 p.m.

Tin Roof will have its Perfect Cinnamon Tin Crunch at the tap room, which combines the brewery’s amber ale and Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. 3 p.m.

Saturday, May 16 
Tin Roof is hosting a crawfish cook-off at the tap room. Noon-6 p.m. The event features a pilot batch of double IPA. Cover is $20 per person. Proceeds will be donated to the JJ Warrior Foundation and The Brick Road to Success Foundation.

The Pelican House hosts the inaugural Delta Brewer’s Ball. 3 p.m.-6 p.m. The event features beers, brewmasters and owners from Louisiana breweries such as Tin Roof, Gnarly Barley, Parish and Bayou Teche. Tickets are $30.

The Bulldog is hosting a craft beer week/end of school block party. 6 p.m.-10 p.m. The event features music from the Chase Tyler Band and beers such as Ommegang’s Game of Thrones line of beers and New Belgium’s Love Cherry Oscar sour/wild ale.
