The market is Sunday, Sept. 6, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Carrolls’ restaurant one of three Louisiana restaurants named top 100 in the U.S.

The accolades keep piling up for Cody and Samantha Carroll’s Sac-a-lait in New Orleans. The restaurant has now been included on OpenTable’s 2015 list of the 100 Best Restaurants for Foodies in America.

Sac-a-Lait stood out among the more than 20,000 restaurants OpenTable analyzed to compile its list. The website sifted through more than 5 million reviews written by verified diners to determine the top 100. Sac-a-Lait currently has 90 reviews and about a 4.5-star rating on OpenTable.

There were three Louisiana restaurants on the list, including Shaya and Square Root, both on Magazine Street in New Orleans. New York has the most restaurants on the list (with 12 top restaurants) followed by California (with 11) and Texas (with nine).

It’s not the first time the Carrolls have been recognized on a national level. Earlier this year, the pair announced they have been invited to cook at the James Beard House Oct. 1. The Carrolls also own Hot Tails in New Roads and continue to support the local culinary scene, competing last weekend in Fête Rouge at L’Auberge Casino & Hotel.
