Update: Ogden Park Prowl arts festival postponed due to weather

Update, 10:40 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6: Ogden Park Prowl has announced on Facebook that the event will be postponed. “We hate to announce it, but after consulting with our artists and local meteorologists, we’ve decided to postpone Prowl,” organizers wrote Friday morning. “Stay tuned for the reschedule date and more info.”

On the hunt for local art, music and culture? Prowl around the “eight best blocks in Baton Rouge” this Saturday at Mid City’s arts festival Ogden Park Prowl.

This annual festival is a collection of open houses, businesses and yards featuring arts, crafts, entertainment and food. About 99 artisans will be showcasing their work, including Heart over Harvest, Beneath the Bark and the original 2 DYE 4.

With six stages set up throughout the neighborhood, festival-goers can soak up the musical stylings of more than 20 artists, including Ship of Fools, Minos the Saint and Wumbo. Mid City Ballroom, the newest venue in the area, will host a post-Prowl concert with The Widowers and Your Mom at 8 p.m. Find out more here.

All this activity will work up an appetite. Several local eateries will be serving food on the prowl, including Pit-N-Peel, Taco de Paco, Barbosa’s Barbeque, Gov’t Taco, Pullin Pork and Mr. Ronnie’s Famous Hot Donuts.

Ogden Park Prowl is free and open to the public. The festival will be held Saturday, Oct. 7, 1-6 p.m.
