Sports enthusiast in Baton Rouge looking to stay fit, make new friends or unleash a competitive spirit have already won big.

Thanks to BREC, local businesses and a number of other organizations, the Capitol City is home to a plethora of adult sport leagues where serious competitors and novices alike can join teams, participate in thrilling matches or relive those childhood glory days. For seasoned athletes or a casual players, here’s a list of some of the top adult sport leagues in Baton Rouge.


Ongoing leagues

Baton Rouge Soccer Club

For soccer enthusiasts, BRSC is a premier choice, with various divisions catering to different skill levels. Enjoy the beautiful game on well-maintained fields and engage in thrilling matches with fellow soccer lovers. The club offers both a co-ed open and a co-ed open for those over 30. The Co-ed Open and Co-ed Over 30 began in mid-June for a six-game season. Both leagues play weeknights at Independence Park (due to the closure of Burbank). Registration is still open for the summer leagues and other programs will become available once the season concludes.

Baton Rouge Bowling League

All Star Lanes offers a variety of bowling leagues to cater to different preferences and interests. From traditional bowling leagues to unique scoring methods like 9 Pin Tap, there are options for everyone. Additionally, these leagues offer various premiums, such as cash prizes, bowling balls, or fun licensed merchandise. Baton Rouge Ultimate Frisbee League
Ultimate Frisbee enthusiasts can find their home with Baton Rouge Ultimate, a Facebook group that puts together ultimate Frisbee games for the residents of Baton Rouge. This collective is dedicated to informing the community about any ongoing ultimate Frisbee activities taking place in Baton Rouge. Currently, the group is scheduling games at Kenilworth Math and Science Academy on Sunday afternoons, starting at 3 p.m. However, the league is open to additional game opportunities for those interested in organizing their own matchups.

BREC’s Tennis Association
BREC offers a diverse range of adult tennis courses tailored to accommodate various skill levels. BREC’s Softball League

If you have a passion for softball, BREC offers a great platform for both recreational and competitive players. Join a team or form your own, and swing for the fences. BREC offers coed and single-gender leagues with a variety of game time options at Hartley/Vey Sports Park at Oak Villa or the Central Sports Complex. BREC’s Flag Football League

Hit the gridiron at BREC’s Wednesday or Sunday Adult 7v7 Flag Football leagues, held at the Central Sports Complex. Open to ages 18 and up, the leagues run from mid-September through mid-November. Registration for both the weekday and weekend leagues start Aug. 1-31. The cost to participate is $395 per team, providing a fantastic opportunity for some thrilling flag football action and friendly competition.

Baton Rouge Cricket Club

Since its establishment in 2008, the Baton Rouge Cricket Club (BRCC) has steadily evolved into one of Louisiana’s most prominent cricket clubs. In recent years, BRCC has experienced substantial growth and currently boasts a dedicated cricket field on the State Fair Grounds on Airline Highway. The club warmly welcomes players from both cricket-playing nations and those unfamiliar with the sport, actively seeking out new talent to join its ranks. Keep an eye out for exciting upcoming events from the Baton Rouge Cricket Club (BRCC) scheduled for late September.

BREC’s Basketball League
Head to Automotive Group Sportsplex for some thrilling basketball action during BREC’s Weekday Adult Basketball league. The league games take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8-10 p.m. and are open to participants ages 18 and above. The fall season runs from Oct. 11 to Dec. 13, providing ample opportunities to showcase your skills. To enter a team into the league, make sure to register between Sept. 1-30. The cost to participate is $285 per team, offering an affordable way to engage in competitive basketball and bond with fellow hoop enthusiasts.

Baton Rouge Ancient Athletic Society (BRAAS)

BRAAS offers a variety of sports offering from golf to volleyball to flag football. The rosters for their official leagues are currently closed for the season however, BRAAS does offer an open baseball league for players looking to get some practice for next year’s league or just to meet new people and get active.


Tournaments

BREC’s Adult Coed Volleyball Recreational Tournament 

Catering to players of all skill levels, this league offers co-ed and single-gender divisions, providing opportunities for friendly competition and socializing. Dust off your spikes and enjoy the fast-paced action on the volleyball courts. Get ready to bump, set, and spike in the Adult Coed Volleyball Recreational Tournament at Kathy Drive Park,  Oct. 27-29. This tournament is open to participants aged 18 and above.  The registration  period for teams runs from Sept. 1-31. The cost to participate is $175 per team.

BREC’s Adult Coed Kickball Recreational Tournament

Relive your childhood memories with BREC kickball. Get ready to kick up some fun in the Adult Coed Kickball Recreational Tournament at Forest Community Park, Nov. 17-19. This exciting kickball tournament is open to participants aged 18 and above. The registration period runs from Oct. 1-31. The cost to participate is $175 per team.
