Dine roundup: Derek Chang’s Koto closes

The Capital City lost a longtime sushi restaurant this weekend. Derek Chang’s Koto of Japan closed its doors Saturday, according to a story from Daily Report.

According to a spokesperson with the restaurant, Chang will be returning to his native Taiwan to begin doing missionary work, a move he has been considering for some time. He is currently in talks with a potential buyer who wants to take over the business and continue to operate in the same location using some of Chang’s recipes. However, no deal has been finalized.

Chang moved his restaurant from 3023 College Drive nearly five years ago to 2562 Citiplace Court.
