For the Thanksgiving 2018 Table: A sampling of places to order desserts in Baton Rouge

Last week, we covered some places to grab a Thanksgiving turkey. Now, onto something a little sweeter: desserts! Thanksgiving wouldn’t be the same without some treats to wash down that cranberry-in-a-can your uncle brought to dinner and everyone felt obligated to eat.

We rounded up a few ideas, from classic turkey day pies to bread pudding. Catch up with us next week, too, when we’ll be closing out the series with some Thanksgiving side dish ideas.

Cou-Yon’s bread pudding

The Port Allen restaurant known for its barbecue and seafood is serving up a warm Thanksgiving pie alternative: Homemade Bread Pudding complete with a Jack Daniels whiskey sauce. The dessert is part of Cou-Yon’s’ complete holiday catering menu, paired with smoked turkey and ham options. Check out the entire menu here.

Counterspace BR’s pies

This White Star Market bakery has a reputation for innovative desserts, but for Thanksgiving it’s showing just how good the classics can be, too. Customers can choose from pecan, sweet potato, chocolate pecan, pumpkin and apple pie. If you are interested in bringing one of owner Sarah Joy Hays‘ pies to your family’s Thanksgiving festivities, order here. Orders must be in by this Friday, Nov. 16.

Cupcake Allie cupcakes and cookies

If you want to impress your guests with creative desserts, Cupcake Allie might be worth stopping by this year. The bakery is doling out pecan pie cakes and cupcakes and pumpkin pie-decorated sugar cookies. Check out its Facebook page for more treats and details on how to get them by Thanksgiving!

Magpie Café’s pies, scones and more

Both Magpie‘s downtown and the Perkins Road locations are serving up cakes, pies, cookies, biscuits and scones for the big day, as well as other side dishes and party platters for Thanksgiving feasts. The restaurant is particularly great for those with dietary restrictions—it offers paleo, gluten-free and vegan desserts. Browse the restaurant’s offerings here. Just make sure you order 72 hours ahead of the pickup time.

Sweetime Bakery’s dessert trays and pumpkin pie

Sweetime is offering a free pumpkin pie for those who order two dessert trays. Scroll through Sweetime’s Facebook page for more information. Orders must be placed by next Tuesday, Nov. 20.

Tammy’s Personal Chef and Catering’s pies

Chef Tampatha Patterson is offering a ton of entrees and sides, and she is also serving up made-to-order sweet potato pie and pumpkin pie. Visit her site for a full menu and contact information.

Tredici Bakery’s pies

The Capital Heights bakery is crafting all the classic holiday pies, plus some interesting spins on fall desserts, including a Cranberry Orange Pie and Cannoli Pie. Browse the menu here.
