The Salad Shop—the Baton Rouge-based salad concept in Acadian-Perkins Plaza and a three-time Best of 225 “Best Salads” winner—has been acquired by The Green House Salad Co., a similar Lake Charles concept.
The acquisition means The Salad Shop will close its doors Thursday at 3 p.m., after which Green House Salad Co. will immediately assume the space and open for business.

“I approached [Green House Salad Co.], and we’ve been working on a deal for the past few months,” says Salad Shop owner Bradley Sanchez, citing “personal reasons” for wanting to exit the business. “But Baton Rouge still has the market for a salad concept. That location is prime.”
Sanchez moved the business—a fast-casual concept where customers could build their own salads or wraps—into the 1,500-square-foot shopping center space in late 2013. Just shy of two years later and with an eye toward expansion, he planned to open another location in the Coursey Place Shopping Center, which has since closed permanently.
