Newk’s Eatery can’t get enough of Baton Rouge.
The fast-casual restaurant will open its second Capital City location Monday, June 8, at 11 a.m. near the North Gates of the LSU campus. The new location is set in the former Mr. Gatti’s building at 3332 Lake St. The 4,200-square-foot space has room for 150 guests indoors and patio seating for an additional 70 guests.

The Jackson, Mississippi-based chain offers salads, sandwiches and pizzas. Currently, Newk’s has 80 locations in 13 states. Newk’s opened its first Baton Rouge location this March in Towne Center.
Newk’s has its sights set on a third Baton Rouge location, according to a press release. Plans are still “under review,” the release states.
“Within the next year, Newk’s expects to expand its footprint in the state by five company and franchise-owned restaurants, bringing the brand’s total number of Louisiana-based locations to nine,” the release says.
