Maybe you’ve seen her face around Baton Rouge, at the spa perhaps where she works, or maybe you’ve seen her on the big screen. If you haven’t yet, you will.
Jackie Tuttle landed a supporting but integral role in the much-hyped new fantasy trilogy Beautiful Creatures. The first in the series hits theaters next month.
Thinking the movie would be lower budget at first, Tuttle says she started hearing the names of Emma Thompson, Jeremy Irons and Viola Davis and realized she was wrong. She compares the movie to Twilight, saying one of the main characters is cursed.
Tuttle, who appeared on season 10 of American Idol, says her vocal talents and interest in community theater led her to a role in the recently released chorus comedy Pitch Perfect. She landed a part without an agent.
From there, she did secure representation—from Baton Rouge-based Open Range Management—and she “capitalized on the booming film industry here” with a role in Beautiful Creatures.
It could be her big break, and though she says she’s not seeking fame—just happiness—she is striving to be an actress full-time.
