Movie picks: LIFF screens ‘The Imitation Game’

Benedict Cumberbatch shines in new WWII drama
Get a sneak peek at one of this year’s Oscar hopefuls. The Louisiana International Film Festival is partnering with Cinemark Perkins Rowe for an early screening of the new drama The Imitation Game Wednesday, Dec. 3. VIP seating begins at 6:30 p.m. General admission seating starts at 6:45 p.m. The screening starts promptly at 7 p.m. To RSVP for general admission, click here. Kona Grill will have cocktail specials and complimentary desserts following the film. The Imitation Game stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Alan Turing, an English mathematician and logician who helped crack the Enigma code during World War II. Keira Knightley and Matthew Goode co-star. Already, the film has racked up honors at the Chicago and Toronto International Film Festivals. Rated PG-13. The Imitation Game will be in theaters Christmas Day.
