Get a plate of jambalaya for a good cause

Sample some of South Louisiana’s finest jambalaya during the Capital Area United Way’s annual Jambalaya Jam. The event kicks off Thursday at North Boulevard’s Town Square 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Variety band MoJeaux is bringing the jams, and the event also features an appearance from honorary Jambalaya Jam queen/LSU gymnastics coach D-D Breaux. Among the festivities for kids is the Knock Knock Museum’s Imagination Playground. At this year’s event, 49 teams will be competing for the jambalaya crown, prepping their recipes and serving up their takes on the classic Cajun dish. Tickets start at $7 for a to-go plate, and $10 gets you a jam sampler. Click here for more information and to buy tickets.
