Broadway comes to Baton Rouge this weekend as the hit musical-comedy Sister Act will take the River Center stage Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets start at $42. The production is based on the 1992 motion picture comedy starring Whoopi Goldberg. The adaptation tells the story of Deloris Van Cartier, a wannabe diva who is on the run from a mob boss. To take cover, she joins a convent and begins to help her fellow sisters find their voices. Eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken wrote the music for the adaptation, which was nominated for five Tony awards in 2011. For more information, click here.
