Local artists, businesses team up for #iammidcity
The Walls Project is partnering with the LSU School of Architecture’s Mid City Studio and Letterman’s Blue Print for a new, community-minded art opening, dubbed #iammidcity. The opening reception kicks off Friday, Nov. 21, at 6 p.m. as part of White Light Night at Letterman’s. The free event will feature the unveiling of the studio’s first design-build project. This modular space captures the experiences, places and people of Mid City through photography and celebrates the area’s identity as a diverse, valuable part of the city. Breakroom at IPO hosts BFA exhibit from Hanna Smith
Local photographer Hanna Smith will show off her most recent works Thursday, Nov. 20, as part of her BFA exhibit “Refocus.” The opening reception runs 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the Breakroom at IPO. The new works are part of a series that aims to make tangible the nostalgic feelings the photographer has for certain places. The result is an abstract and colorful display that focuses on the memorable landscapes and scenery she has seen. RSVP and get more information.
