Things to do this weekend in Baton Rouge: Rock N Rowe, a musical laser show and more events

Rock out at Perkins Rowe Thursday 

Rock N Rowe kicks off its fall series on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 6 to 9 p.m., with a performance by Peyton Falgoust Band.

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to snag a spot in front of the stage at Perkins Rowe’s Town Square.

Watch local actors perform a Tony Award-winning musical this weekend

Mid City Civic Theatre is putting on a production of the Tony Award-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen this weekend.

Baton Rougeans will have a chance to see this Broadway hit brought to life over two weekends at Mid City Civic Theatre, which is located at 7155 Florida Blvd.

This weekend, performances will be at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, and Saturday, Sept 12, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13. Buy tickets here.

Rock the Dome Saturday

Travel “Where the Streets Have No Name” at the Louisiana Art & Science Museum this Saturday, Sept. 12, at 6 p.m. 

The museum’s “Rock the Dome” series at the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium will include a musical laser show inspired by songs from U2. 

Tickets begin at $20. LASM is located at 100 S. River Rd. 

Enjoy dinner and a show Sunday

At “Concert Kitchen Live!” at Manship Theatre, watch Chef Kevin Belton cook and share stories, spiced up by music performed by pianist and singer/songwriter John Papa Gros. 

The show takes place this Sunday, Sept. 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. Stick around to the end to try a bite of Belton’s dishes.
