Tee up for charity Friday
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge’s annual Topgolf FORE! fundraiser will take place on Friday, Oct. 9, from 2 to 5 p.m.
Teams will enjoy three hours of unlimited play at Topgolf, located at 10955 N. Mall Dr.

Enjoy a night of classical music Fiday
Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra is bringing “Bach” its popular outdoor concert, on Friday, Oct. 9, at 7:30 p.m.
Sit outside the Main Library at Goodwood and enjoy live classical music at “Bachtoberfest: A Night of Beer, Brats, and Bach.”
Regular tickets are $40 and can be purchased here. Child and student tickets are $20 and can be purchased by calling the box office at 225-383-0500. The Main Library at Goodwood is at 7711 Goodwood Blvd.
See the Animals in Art exhibition Saturday
The LSU School of Veterinary Medicine will celebrate the opening of its “Animals in Art” exhibit with a reception Saturday, Oct. 10, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the LSU Vet Med Library.
The exhibition features 60 works depicting animals through a variety of artistic styles and will remain on display until Nov. 6, 2026.
Admission to the reception is free, and LSU Vet Med is located on Skip Bertman Drive.
Dress up and support Cat Haven Saturday
Attend the Cat Tails & Cocktails fundraiser benefiting Cat Haven this Saturday, Oct. 10, at 6 p.m.
Dress up and enjoy live music, a costume contest, live and silent auctions and drinks.
The event will be held at the Crowne Plaza Executive Center, located at 4729 Constitution Ave. General admission tickets are $60.
Shop for additions to your garden this weekend
LSU Hilltop Arboretum hosts PlantFest! from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11.
Browse over 3,000 plants, garden supplies, art, housewares and more available for purchase.
Admission is free. LSU Hilltop Arboretum is located at 11855 Highland Rd.
Watch cats compete this weekend
Produced by The Greater Baton Rouge Cat Club, the Greater Baton Rouge Cat Show will be held this weekend at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales.
See 200 cats compete from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11.
Admission is $12 for adults and $9 for children 16 and under. The Lamar-Dixon Expo Center is located at 9039 S. St. Landry Ave., Gonzales.
Attend the Women’s Empowerment Summit Sunday
The YWCA of Greater Baton Rouge aims to inspire at its Women’s Empowerment Summit on Sunday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m.
The event’s keynote speaker is New York Times bestselling author Sarah Jakes Roberts.
The event will be held at the Raising Cane’s River Center Theatre, located at 240 St. Louis St. General admission tickets are available for purchase here.
