Mid City’s newest art show is back, with bow ties, rock music and furniture Sept. 30

Come one, come all. Local art gallery The Collective is hosting monthly art show Mid City Rising this Saturday, Sept. 30.

The show is geared toward artists of all ages and skill levels and hopes to give up-and-coming artists a place to get established.

More than 20 artists will be showcasing work at this month’s show, including Bad Boy Bow Ties, Agenda Trading Company and Exoteric Furniture owner Joe Judy.

There will be live performances from synth-rock band Wisebirds, nihilistic punk rock group Wimpsville and funky space band Sho Nuff.

The Collective is also starting an open jam session, perfect for any slam poet, singer-songwriter or anyone who wants to show off their skills.

The Pink Elephant next door will also be open during the event, transforming the parking lot into one big party. The fun doesn’t stop there though. Head to The Radio Bar for an after party.

Mid City Rising will be held Saturday, Sept. 30, 6-10 p.m. at 2678 Government St.
