Head downtown Oct. 29 for Sunday in the Park with local band Universal Language

Catch a concert by Baton Rouge band Universal Language at Sunday in the Park this weekend.

Sunday in the Park is a free outdoor concert series held in Baton Rouge each spring and fall. The series, which is hosted by the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge and partly sponsored by 225, aims to connect the community with local talent in a family friendly environment.

Universal Language, formed in 2015, performs a variety of musical genres. Working as a collective, the band members say they aim to create the most “interesting and thoughtful music you have ever heard.”

Capital City Grill and Stroubes will be serving food throughout the event. Manship Theatre at Shaw Center for the Arts’ outdoor full bar will have brunch cocktails and happy hour specials available for purchase.

Universal Language performs 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, outside the Shaw Center for the Arts at 100 Lafayette St.
