Going to LASM’s big gala Sept. 22? Here’s a breakdown of all the preparations

Another year, another Louisiana Art & Science Museum gala worth breaking out your cocktail attire for.

The annual gala, slated for next Friday, Sept. 22, funds the majority of the museum’s programs for the coming year. The 32nd annual event will feature live music, a silent auction and plenty of locally made food from the likes of Iverstine Farm and Butcher, The Gregory, Sullivan’s Steakhouse, Cupcake Allie and more.

An all-red dress code will complement the theme, “Red,” which celebrates the museum’s newest exhibit, “The Red That Colored the World.” For the exhibit, textiles, sculpture, manuscripts, paintings, decorative arts, clothing and more bring to life the epic origins of the color red, which dates to the pre-Columbian Americas.
