Feel empowered at community events this weekend as part of Baton Rouge Women’s Week

Showcase, strengthen and explore the role of women at a variety of events this week, held as part of Baton Rouge Women’s Week.

This 10-day celebration, hosted by the Women’s Council of Greater Baton Rouge, will feature more than 40 activities ranging from professional development to spiritual growth to sports.

The council is a nonprofit organization committed to enhancing the community by connecting, promoting and empowering women.

Learn how to better manage life as a working woman tomorrow night at the how-to session Working Tips for Working Women. The session will offer tips on earning a degree while working full time, budgeting, saving and enjoying your money, and also, how to relieve stress and maintain a healthy diet.

Working Tips for Working Women will be held tomorrow, Oct. 13, 6-8 p.m. at 3535 Riley St.

On Sunday, Baton Rouge Gallery is hosting Women Writers on Reality, a panel discussion featuring seven diverse writers. Panelists include Amy Alexander, Renee Bacher, Claire Boudreaux Bateman, Dorothy Early Davis, Malaika Favorite, Ava Leavell Haymon and Herpreet Singh.

The panel will be held 4-6 p.m. Baton Rouge Gallery is at 1515 Dalrymple Drive.
