Drink beer while talking ‘Harry Potter’ and religion at Pub Theology tonight, Sept. 21

Like beer? Like Harry Potter? Well, you’re in luck. Head to The Londoner tonight, Sept. 21, for Pub Theology, an informal get-together hosted by Broadmoor United Methodist Church.

Pub Theology explores theology and faith as it appears in pop culture, with this session focusing on J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

Participants will be able to order food and drinks and visit before diving into the discussions, which are led by Senior Pastor Rev. Donnie Wilkinson.

Basing the discussions off of excerpts from the book, Wilkinson asks participants questions like, “What do you miss as much as Harry misses Hogwarts?” and “What was unmentionable in your home growing up?”

While the discussion is led by a pastor, organizers stress that the purpose of the event is not to influence participants’ spiritual beliefs.

Join the group at The Londoner tonight, Sept. 21, 6-7:30 p.m. Pub Theology meetings will be held each Thursday until Nov. 16.
