f you’re a die-hard football fan (or at the very least, a Louisiana football fan), weekends are about to get really busy. Whether it’s high school, college or NFL, you’re in the stands or in front of the TV cheering on your favorite team. And if you are anything like me, you want to look good doing it!
I am all about stylish ease and comfort, especially since the season’s early games are 100+ degrees, so this post will be about just that. For time’s sake, I’ll stick to LSU and Saints football, but if you’re a fan for another team, these concepts can work for you too! Any comments or requests for posts are welcome.

Dresses
To paraphrase the Cover Girl motto, dresses are easy, breezy and beautiful! Need I say more? If you’re in Baton Rouge or surrounding areas, any boutique will have a plethora of purple and gold options. The problem with dresses is the possibility of outfit duplication. With over 90 thousand people in Tiger Stadium, it’s practically impossible not to! The key is to shop early and to not be afraid to wear something from the back of your closet.
LSU: Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, Dillard’s, ASOS
Saints: Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, Nordstrom, Piperlime
Shorts
Ahh, separates. Tim Gunn of Project Runway loves the versatility, and so do I! Shorts and tops allow for infinite amounts of outfit possibilities, and the best part is, you can mix and match to represent the Tigers or the Saints.
LSU: Forever 21 shorts, Urban Outfitters top
Saints: Gap shorts, Nordstrom shorts
Jerseys
Let’s be honest—you either love ’em or hate ’em. I’m not usually one to wear a football jersey, but I recently received this one as a gift and figured I might as well rock it! Of course, throw it on with jeans or cut-offs and you’re good to go, but if you want to style it up a bit, accessorize, then try tucking it in.
If you ask me: Invest in some really comfortable shoes that you kind of don’t care about. It may not rain in Tiger Stadium, but it might when you tailgate. After several weekends of heat, rain and humidity, you just don’t want to chance ruining that favorite pair of flats.
