Sip & Savor: DiGiulio Brothers Italian Cafe
Sponsored by DiGiulio Brothers Italian Cafe
Before DiGiulio Bros. became a Perkins Road staple in 1987, it started with a family recipe. Gramma made ravioli from scratch for her four hungry grandsons, creating the kind of homemade Italian cooking that would eventually inspire a restaurant of their own.
Two of those grandsons, an attorney and a carpenter with no restaurant experience, took a chance on turning those family traditions into a business. Nearly four decades later, DiGiulio Bros. remains a family-run favorite, bringing authentic Italian flavors and a welcoming atmosphere to Baton Rouge.
Owner Mike Johnson still greets guests, and the restaurant’s signature red sauce remains rooted in the traditions that started it all. It’s a reminder that some of the best meals come from recipes, and family, worth holding on to.
