Neutral Milk Hotel headed to B.R.
Local fans of the folk-rock/cult icons Neutral Milk Hotel will have reason to celebrate this fall. Today, the band announced a tour stop at The Varsity Nov. 7. Tickets go on sale Friday at 11 a.m. via varsitytheatre.com.
This is the band’s first appearance in the Capital City since reuniting. In February, the group had two sold-out appearances at The Civic Theatre in New Orleans.
For those unfamiliar with Neutral Milk Hotel, the band has origins in Ruston, Louisiana, though it relocated to Athens, Georgia. Lead singer Jeff Mangum is the band’s central figure. In 1998, the band released its second album In the Aeroplane Over the Sea and hasn’t put out any new material since. That work is considered one of the best albums of the ’90s.
