The Food Network is looking for its next celebrity chef, and local food blogger Jay Ducote will be among the hopefuls competing for that distinction on the 11th season of Food Network Star.

The network announced the lineup last week for the new season of the hit show, which kicks off June 7 and will include as judges Giada De Laurentiis, Guy Fieri and Bobby Flay. In addition to Ducote, who established himself on the local foodie scene five years ago with his BiteandBooze.com blog, the new season will include contestants from around the country, though no others from Louisiana or even the Deep South.

Ducote, who also recently launched his own barbecue sauce, has previously appeared on Food Network’s Cutthroat Kitchen and FOX’s MasterChef. The winner of Food Network Star will be determined in the show’s season finale in August.

The Food Network has more about the show’s lineup for next season.
