Baton Rouge’s Ruffino’s adds chef Jeremy Langlois

Ruffino’s, a Baton Rouge-based Creole-Italian restaurant, has added a talented young chef to its culinary team.

Chef Jeremy Langlois has been named the restaurant’s new Corporate Chef. He will work with all of Ruffino’s current and future venues, including the restaurant’s Lafayette location and catering venture at De La Ronde hall in downtown Baton Rouge.

Langlois most recently worked as executive chef for Latil’s Landing at Houmas House Plantation and Gardens. In his new position, Langlois will take over for Gino Sclafani, who has been promoted to director of food and beverage at Ruffino’s.

Ruffino’s co-owner Ruffin Rodrigue called Langlois’ addition “a culinary celebration” in a press release. Rodrigue added that the young chef will “elevate our brand to the next level.”

Langlois’ accolades include being named a “Chef to Watch” by Louisiana Cookin’ and an invitation to cook at the James Beard House in New York City. He has also appeared on Food Network’s Chopped.

In the press release, Langlois says the decision to leave Latil’s Landing was difficult, but he is thrilled with his new job.

“The opportunity to spread my wings even further with Chef Peter [Sclafani], Ruffin [Rodrigue] and the extraordinary culinary team at Ruffino’s was simply too good to pass up,” Langlois says. “I couldn’t be more thrilled.”
