What to eat at Jazz Fest

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival wraps up another great year this weekend. While most attend for the musical performances, the food is another reason the event should not be missed. At the celebration, there are hundreds of options for attendees to munch on at the numerous food areas.

At Food Area I in between the Jazz & Heritage Stage and Kids Tent, Love at First Bite will be serving up its Cochon de Lait Po-Boy. At Food Area II, across from the Congo Square Stage, Ninja Japanese Restaurant is serving Shrimp Yakisoba (pan fried noodles) and Yakiniku Po-Boy (Japanese barbecue beef). Angelo Brocato’s Ice Cream & Confectionary Co. will also be at Food Area II serving up its signature gelato, spumoni and cannolis.

Also at Jazzfest are the Food Heritage and Cajun Cabin stages, which have cooking demonstrations and discussions. Michael Friedman and Greg Augarten of Pizza Delicious will be at the Food Heritage stage, preparing Bucatini All’amatriciana with local cured pork jowl. At the Cajun Cabin Stage Saturday at 3 p.m., Matthew Woodall of Cochon will prepare pickled catfish with black eyed pea and Kohlrabi salad.
