Tin Roof Turnrow now available year-round

Since late August, Baton Rouge’s Tin Roof brewery has seen its popularity increase with the release of a fall seasonal—the coriander ale Turnrow. The beer has been so well-received that the brewery will now offer it year-round, Tin Roof co-founder William McGehee says.

“It made sense to add it to our lineup,” McGehee says. “It’s not too hoppy, but it’s not your typical light beer.”

McGehee admits that Turnrow is his favorite of the brewery’s output, so far, and its release has been a “home run.”

“In pretty much every market we released it, it took off,” he says. “We’ve been making a ton of it and running out so fast. We’ve been brewing as much as we can. It’s one of those good problems to have.”

Tin Roof fans will also be excited to hear that the brewery’s Parade Ground Coffee Porter will be out next weekend. The winter seasonal is brewed with a special blend of New Orleans Coffee Company mocha and French roast coffee. McGehee says the brewery is also working on a seasonal IPA for next year.

At the brewery’s recently completed tap room, McGehee says the team is working on solidifying its schedule, but is glad to have it open.

“We finally got it rockin’ and rollin’,” he says. “It took a year, but I think we did it right.”

As of now, the tap room is open Wednesday-Saturday 3 p.m.-10 p.m. with happy hour specials 5 p.m.-7 p.m. The tap room features Tin Roof’s flagship beers as well as Rougarou and the Blonde Sugar Sex Magik, the latter which is only available at the tap room.
