Soup’s on: Fantastic Pho

Hot soup might be the most universally comforting dish across all cultures. We slurp it when we’re sick, or seek it out when the weather gets cooler and we want to curl up with a bowl of something steamy. With pho, sometimes a blazing hit of hot sauce can clear your sinuses, too.

A comforting soup should be slow-simmered with love, and pho’s broth is traditionally cooked for hours with rock sugar, vegetables, spices and bones to give it that richness and heartiness that spreads to your fingers and toes on the first bite. Whether lime, jalapenos, herbs, hoisin, Sriracha or red chili paste are your speed when it comes to dressing a bowl of pho, everybody has their own sweet spot of flavors. When you pile your favorites on to make the signature pho you’ve loved for years, it’s a little bowl of home all your own.
