Peek inside Louisiana-themed subscription boxes

There’s nothing like the comfort of food from home. But for many Louisiana expats, it’s nearly impossible to find their favorite local brands outside the state.

A few enterprising Boudreauxs and Thibodeauxs have a solution: subscription services that will deliver Louisiana products right to your doorstep.

Cajun Crate

Origin: Lafayette, launched February 2016

Price per month: $39

Items: 7+

Perks: Each box comes with a recipe from a Louisiana chef, with video tutorial tie-ins on Cajun Crate’s Facebook page. Look for a collab with Jay Ducote coming soon.

Fun fact: For every box shipped out in a Cajun Crate, The Cajun Spoon provides one meal to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. Cajun Crate also matched each subscription in August with a donation of a crate for flood victims.


Parish Parcel

Origin: Lafayette, launched May 2016

Price per month: $29 (Standard Box) or
$49 (Lagniappe Box)

Items: 6-8

Perks: Lagniappe Box includes an additional “lagniappe” item each month, like a Louisiana-themed T-shirt.

Fun fact: Parish Parcel donated 100% of sales from a specially-designed flood relief T-shirt to United Way of Acadiana in August.


Louisiana to Geaux

Origin: Walker, launched December 2014
