Ninja Snowballs gets new owners
One of Baton Rouge’s first food trucks has new owners at the helm. Dr. Mark Zweig and his wife Nataliya purchased Ninja Snowballs in July from Becky Brill. The couple had thought about getting into the food business for a while.
“This truck is a huge part of not only Baton Rouge’s history but also Louisiana’s,” Zweig says. “We have been busier every day since we acquired it. In just two weeks, we have catered twice at the BASF plant in Geismar and brought the truck to a huge church event in Hammond, LSU’s STRIPES program and the Celtic [Media] Centre and more.”
The truck, which started in 2010, is available for events at $220 per hour. Zweig says he’s been slinging anywhere from 100 to 200 snowballs per hour at some events. For him, good business and an icy treat aren’t the only reasons why he and his wife bought the truck. It’s also about bringing happiness to customers.

“I have never seen such joy when someone eats a snowball, especially since many from here have childhood memories and have developed favorite flavors,” he says.
