From ‘inRegister’: Get your snack on during the tailgates with these recipes

If there’s one thing for certain here in the South, it’s that the return of football reigns supreme. High-school Friday night lights, Saturdays in Tiger Stadium (like this weekend’s big game against Auburn), “homegating” with all your favorite people, and of course, the food that gets your pompoms shaking.

Even though inRegister contributor and food blogger Aimee Broussard wasn’t able to include an entire tailgating chapter in her Picnics, Potlucks & Porch Parties cookbook, that doesn’t mean some of her favorite game-day snacks weren’t snuck in there via tailgating “picnics.” For Broussard, there is nothing more exciting during football season than finding ways to elevate a tailgate, and of course, that begins with the food.
