From Spatula Diaries: Try a fresh spin on blueberry cobbler

The Red Stick Farmers Market celebrates the harvest of Louisiana blueberries with its annual Blueberry Bash this weekend. At the event, 225 contributor Maggie Heyn Richardson will be making a basil blueberry cobbler as part of a cooking demo inside the Main Street Market at 10 a.m. The dish is something Richardson has made for years, and has a broader flavor profile than regular cobblers that are too sweet for her taste. “For me, the answer was to cut the sugar and add lemon and lime (rind and juice), fresh mint, fresh basil and a little balsamic vinegar,” she writes. “The fusion of these flavors pairs perfectly with the dish’s sweetness.” Read her blog post and get the recipe here.
