Dine Roundup: LCI students awarded prestigious scholarship, Ghost in the Machine flying off the shelves

Louisiana Culinary Institute (LCI) announced last week that five of its current students were named recipients of the Charlie Trotter Culinary Education Foundation Scholarship. The LCI students represent half of those selected to receive the $2,500 scholarship award.
The LCI scholarship recipients are Garrett Couvillon, Nicholas Glenn, Mica Salter, Dustin Wesley and Justin Lambert. The scholarship is given to students looking to further their education and student culinary teams currently competing at American Culinary Federation Education Foundation regional and national conferences.

Parish Brewing’s Ghost in the Machine bottles sold out, but available on tap
One of 225‘s selections for top Louisiana beers of 2014, Parish Brewing’s American Double/Imperial IPA Ghost in the Machine is a must-have across the beer landscape in South Louisiana. According to a post on the Broussard, Louisiana brewery’s Facebook page, bottles of Ghost in the Machine have already sold out in the Baton Rouge market. However, the good news is that the beer is still available on tap at a few restaurants and bars around town. According to beermenus.com, the beer is available at The Chimes’ Highland Road and Coursey Boulevard locations, Corporate Brew and Draft, The Draft House and The Pelican House.
