Need we say more? Head to Radio Bar Oct. 11, 5-7 p.m., to taste seasonal brews from Mockler Beverage Company. Brown ale, porter and Oktoberfest-style beers are on the menu. You have to try Ballast Point’s Dead Ringer Oktoberfest or Urban South’s Oktoberfest, two Märzen-style lagers.

Support moms and babies at the Signature Chefs Auction Thursday, Oct. 12

When you buy a ticket for the Signature Chefs Auction, you’re supporting March of Dimes, an organization committed to helping women reach full-term pregnancies. And you get to drink wine and eat food from chefs like Collin Fontenot of Galatoire’s Bistro and Kaila Kay, pastry chef at Kalurah Street Grill. Win-win situation.

You can support the Capital Area United Way at the annual Jambalaya Jam this week. Get a plate of jambalaya and a drink while you listen to live music from the Chee-Weez.

Raise your wine glass to the YMCA Friday, Oct. 13

The Southside YMCA will host its seventh annual Light Up the Night with Wines Around the World event on Friday. Think wine tasting, food pairings, auctions and live music from Big River Express. It’s a great way to support an organization that’s been committed to the kids in the Baton Rouge area since 1917.

Roll on over to Tin Roof’s food truck roundup on Friday for a taste of local culture. Check out Fete au Fete and Kenny’s Cajun & Creole for Louisiana fare, Grilling Shilling for barbecue and Pops and Rockets for gourmet frozen treats. Of course, you’ll wanna wash it down with one of Tin Roof’s own beers. Zydeco band La Bande de Plaquemine Brûlée will perform.
