Dine Roundup: Eat Gator bites and learn to make spring rolls at Baton Rouge food events

Welcome football season with Gator bites and Razorback pork belly at Ruffino’s Wine Dinner Sunday

Ruffino’s is celebrating the start of football season with a classic Baton Rouge event, the LSU Kickoff Wine Dinner Sunday, Aug. 27.

The dinner will feature five courses, each inspired by one of LSU’s opponents and paired with a different wine. Florida Gator bites, Razorback pork belly and Syracuse blood orange tiramisu are a few of the dishes being offered. 

The event starts at 5:30 p.m. Call 753-3458 to reserve a table for $129 per person. Ruffino’s Restaurant is at 18811 Highland Road.


Barbosa’s Barbeque to host Sunday pop-up dinner at The Overpass Merchant

Come out for a night of barbecue and brews at a pop-up event hosted by Barbosa’s Barbeque with New Belgium Brewing at The Overpass Merchant this Sunday, Aug. 27.

The menu will feature dishes such as Mexican hot chicken and pork adovada. You can view the full menu here.

Enjoy a night out to benefit the Boy Scouts of America next Tuesday

Support a good cause with the Boy Scouts of America’s Cooking for Character Taste Fair Tuesday, Aug. 29, at the East Baton Rouge Parish Main Library. 

Proceeds from the event will fund the Istrouma Area Council. The Taste Fair will also feature a silent auction, live entertainment and bar.

Grab your friends and get creative at Baton Rouge’s newest art series, Drink & Draw, at Corporate Brew & Draft Tuesday, Aug. 29.

Join Twine owner and chef Steve Diehl in the kitchen Wednesday, Aug. 30, and learn how to make the perfectly crafted spring roll for dinner.  

The class is hands-on and participants will take home their freshly made rolls.
