Learn about herbal seasoning during a demo Thursday, Sept. 28

The Baton Rouge unit of the Herb Society of America will be meeting Sept. 28 at the Burden Center for an herbal seasoning demo. Watch and learn to blend herbs and salt. It sounds simple, but good seasoning can be a cooking game changer. The local chapeter invites visitors and guests to attend.

Take a tour of Baton Rouge Distilling Friday, Sept. 29

Learn how Baton Rouge Distilling makes its bourbons, whiskeys and fruit-based brandies with a tour this Friday. You’ll get to sample strawberry brandy and enjoy a craft cocktail at the tasting room, open 6-8 p.m.

The hour-long tour starts at 7 p.m. Can’t make it this Friday? The distillery will be offering tours every Friday night through October. Tickets are $5 and sold here


Enjoy a jazz brunch at Boudreaux’s Catering Sunday, Oct. 1

For the first Sunday of the month, Boudreaux’s Catering will host a jazz brunch 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The buffet includes omelettes, a grits bar, soup, salad, meats and more. Bottomless beverages are also on the menu. The Nick Abraham Quartet will perform.

Free Food Sunday returns to Radio Bar this Sunday, Oct. 1

Radio Bar’s next Free Food Sunday will feature Mojo Chicken Soft Tacos from Dave Remmetter. The soft flour tortilla tacos are topped with smoked chicken thighs, lettuce, tomatoes and Chelsea’s mayo (from the former Chelsea’s Cafe).

Food is served 4-7 p.m., but you can arrive as early as 3 p.m. Grab a number ticket when you enter. See more details here.


Kalurah Street Grill hosts an Abita beer dinner next Wednesday, Oct. 4

Kalurah Street Grill will host a beer dinner featuring seasonal and select beers from Abita Brewing Company. Enjoy six beer pairings, appetizers and a five-course meal.
