Louisiana Culinary Institute now caters
The Louisiana Culinary Institute celebrated the beginning of its new catering services yesterday, Aug. 25.
After years of catering inquiries, culinary director Charlie Ruffolo says the institute is now in a prime spot to offer top-of-the-line catering.
The institute will cater events of all types, including business meetings, lunch and dinner parties, midday breaks, weddings, receptions, themed parties and more.

Patrons can choose from a list of prepared catering menus, or customize a menu with the institute’s chefs and event specialists. The institute offers menus for fine dining, seated dinners, food stations, hors d’oeuvres and buffets.
The institute is partnering with the Burden Center, Ginger’s Party Rentals and the LSU AgCenter to provide the services. Head to the Louisiana Culinary Institute’s website to schedule an event.
Catering prices vary depending on the cuisine and type of event.
Tacos, trivia and more at Lava Cantina fundraiser
Lava Cantina is hosting a fundraiser for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation Tuesday, Sept. 1, at 5 p.m.
The event features hourly door prizes and raffles. Prizes include an LSU baseball hat signed by coach Paul Mainieri, LSU baseball, softball and basketball tickets, gift certificates and more. All raffle tickets are $5 and can be bought at the event.
Lava Cantina will be serving its usual daily menu and hosting the weekly Tacos & Trivia.
Volunteers can sign up to shave their heads at the event—as part of a cancer awareness campaign for St. Baldrick’s—and donations can be made on the website.
All proceeds from raffle sales and 15 percent of all Lava Cantina sales at the event benefit pediatric cancer research.
The event is open to the public.
