City Pork to host ‘Bourbon on the Bayou’
City Pork Deli & Charcuterie will host a five-course bourbon dinner Sunday, Jan. 24, at 6 p.m. The event, prepared by Chef Ryan André, features craft drinks with Jim Beam bourbon.
Tickets are $85 per person and include all dishes and drinks. Make reservations by calling the deli at 300-4550.

Grand opening event at Umami Japanese Bistro
The new sushi joint and Japanese Bistro in Southgate Village celebrates its grand opening Saturday, Jan. 23.
The grand opening event includes a raffle for a five-course dinner for two complete with wine and sake pairings. The event also features drink specials, free samples and photo booths.
The event kicks off at 6 p.m. Umami Japanese Bistro is at 3930 Burbank Drive.
Tio Javi’s now serving brunch
Tio Javi’s Mexican Fresh Mex Bar & Grill, formerly Ninfa’s on Constitution Avenue, now serves weekend brunch.
The brunch menu features dishes such as chilaquiles, carnitas hash and eggs and breakfast chalupas. Tio Javi’s full drink menu is also available for brunch.
Tio Javi’s is at 4738 Constitution Ave. Brunch is served 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
