Tonight: Beer tasting at Radio Bar
Head to The Radio Bar at 3079 Government St. tonight, Nov. 16, for a beer tasting with NOLA Brewing Company. From 5-7 p.m., the event will feature samples of its top brews, including the Darkest Before Dawn Lager.

Baton Rouge Burgers hosts burger battle fundraiser Thursday
The group Baton Rouge Burgers is hosting the “Tigerland and Campus Gates Burger Battle” Thursday, Nov. 17, at 6 p.m. at Walk On’s Bistreaux and Bar on Burbank Drive.

Restaurants in the LSU area will participate in a charity burger competition to benefit Baton Rouge Food Bank and Mary Bird Perkins. A panel of judges will pick the “Taste Winner” and attendees will also choose the “People’s Choice Winner.”
Tickets to attend are $15 in advance or $20 at the door and include small burger samples from each contestant and beverages. Participating restaurants as of press time include Walk On’s, Fat Cow, Canefield Tavern, Breck’s Bistro and Pasta Bar, Barcadia and Your Mom’s Restaurant and Bar.

LSU Museum of Art holds ‘Cocktails in Color’ Thursday
This Thursday, Nov. 17, head to LSU Museum of Art for its “Cocktails in Color” event.
The museum will hold a discussion from 6-8 p.m. about artist Shawne Major’s “Hundredth Monkey,” which is a part of the “Art in Louisiana: Views into the Collection” exhibit.
The event will also include a specialty cocktail tasting with Galatoire’s Bistro. There will be an opportunity for guests to recreate a mixed media piece similar to Major’s work during the event as well.
“Cocktails in Color” is $10 for LSUMOA members and $15 for non-members. Tickets can be purchased by calling 389-7210 or at the door.
Register now for Renaissance Hotel’s Thanksgiving brunch, dinner
Looking for a way to spend Thanksgiving Day? The Renaissance Baton Rouge Hotel is hosting a Thanksgiving Brunch and Thanksgiving Night Dinner.
Brunch will run 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the hotel on Thursday, Nov. 24. Dinner will run 5-10 p.m. at the Tallulah Crafted Food and Wine Bar. Both are at 7000 Bluebonnet Blvd. Brunch is $40 per person or $16 per person for children ages 6-12. Children under 5 are admitted free. The meal will include a soup station, a salad bar, a carving station, a buffet with sides and dessert, according to the Facebook event page.
Dinner will be $22 person. The meal includes appetizer options followed by roasted turkey breast, green beans and andouille cornbread stuffing, according to the Facebook event page. The meal will finish with a choice of pecan pie with bourbon glaze or “decadent chocolate cake.”

Reserve your space at Crowne Plaza’s Thanksgiving buffet
If you’re looking for another Thanksgiving Day meal, head to the Crowne Plaza Executive Center Baton Rouge for a Thanksgiving buffet event.
Located at 4728 Constitution Ave., the buffet will run 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The meal is $28 for adults, $14 for kids ages 6-12, and seniors who are 65 or older eat for $22. Meals for children under 6 are free.

Other events happening this week: Corporate Brew & Draft’s Jester King Dinner
Corporate Brew & Draft is bringing Austin, Texas’ Jester King Brewery to Baton Rouge.
The brewery is holding the “Jester King Dinner” on Sunday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. The event will include beer samples and a five-course meal, according to the Facebook event page.
The meal is being planned by chef Richard Markert. The meal will include items like a Crispy Calamari Salad, Napoleon of Rabbit, Foie Gras & Crispy Sweet Potato and Sinfully Wicked Bread Pudding, according to the Eventbrite page.
Tickets are $120 per person.
