Dine Roundup: Baton Rouge named one of South’s most underrated food cities; local food events

‘USA Today’ names BR one of the South’s most underrated food cities

We know the Red Stick is home to some crazy good food, and we’re glad others are noticing. On Monday, USA Today named Baton Rouge as one of the five most underrated food cities in the South, with a shoutout to Cocha, Kalurah Street Grill and the city’s bustling pop-up scene.

The city is “finding itself,” the story says, thanks to young chefs and adventurous culinarians using plenty of locally sourced ingredients. Other cities featured were Birmingham, Alabama; Lexington, Kentucky; Greenville, South Carolina; and Athens, Georgia.
