Ruffino’s chef to be featured this week on ‘Food Factory’

Chef Gino Sclafani of Ruffino’s Restaurant will be featured on FYI Network’s show Food Factory Thursday, March 31, at 11 a.m.

Sclafani prepared Ruffino’s signature shrimp corn dogs during the shooting of the episode, titled “Plane Sailing.”

Forum 35 and USS Kidd present Uncorked this Thursday

The USS Kidd Veterans Museum is teaming up with Forum 35 to host its Uncorked event at the museum Thursday, March 31, at 6 p.m.

Forum 35’s Uncorked is an evening of wine tasting for a good cause. Attendees will bring their own wine, participating as teams of one, two, or three in a blind-tasting wine competition. Tasters will vote on the best wines, and the winning teams will take home a collection of wine bottles from the night. Proceeds benefit USS Kidd.

Rotolo sets world record in fastest dough competition

Mitch Rotolo Jr., a leader within the Rotolo’s Pizzeria family, recently set a new world record in the “Fastest Dough” competition at the International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas. He will head to Parma, Italy, next to compete globally representing the United States.

Rotolo Jr. came in first place in the Vegas competition and set a new world record of 23.4 seconds. The goal of the competition is to see who can toss out five doughs to cover five pizza screens in the shortest amount of time. Rotolo Jr., who has participated in the competition for many years, heads to Parma with the World Pizza Team to compete in the 25th Annual Pizza World Championship April 11-13, 2016.

The Rotolo’s franchise started in Baton Rouge, and Rotolo Jr. manages locations in Baton Rouge and Lafayette.


Zorba’s presents wine tasting dinner next week

Zorba’s Greek Bistro will host a wine tasting dinner featuring five courses paired with wines from around the world Wednesday, April 6, at 7 p.m.
