Atlanta-based pizza restaurant coming to Baton Rouge

Your Pie, an Atlanta-based, fast-casual brick-oven pizza concept, is expanding into Louisiana by opening its first restaurant in Baton Rouge. The area franchisee hopes to open three Baton Rouge locations within the next 24 months.

Your Pie utilizes the build-your-own-meal concept with hand-tossed dough, homemade sauces and salad dressings. In addition to traditional pies, the company also serves vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free pizzas.

Magpie prepares for August supper social

Magpie Café continues its monthly Supper Social series Thursday, Aug. 25, 6:30-9 p.m.

The Supper Social features a five-course dinner experience with local and seasonal ingredients, crafted by Magpie’s culinary team. The theme for this month’s Supper Social is charcuterie and cheese board.

Coyote Blues on South Acadian closes 

The Baton Rouge location of Lafayette-based Coyote Blues Fresh Mexican Grill at 2450 S. Acadian Thruway closed its doors this past weekend.

According to Daily Report, a sign on the door of the restaurant thanks customers, but only says that the location is now permanently closed. The restaurant opened in 2009.


City Pork hosting dinner this Friday

This Friday, Aug. 12, beginning at 6 p.m., City Pork Deli and Charcuterie hosts its Cuban Cochon de Lait dinner.

The menu will feature mojo-marinated whole-roasted pig, frijoles negro, arroz, jicama salad, platanos fritos and chocolate and caramel flan. There will also be $6 planters punches, $8 classic daiquiris and $7 mojitos.

Admission is $15 per person.


Kalurah Street Grill opening in old Chelsea’s Cafe location

Chef Kelley McCann, who is leaving Galatoire’s Bistro after roughly 10 years, is opening a new restaurant concept with Chad Hughes and Brad Watts in the old Chelsea’s Cafe building at 2857 Perkins Road. Kalurah Street Grill is slated to open late in the fall.

McCann will serve as executive chef of the new restaurant, which will feature a menu of seasonal vegetables and Louisiana game and fish.
